PRIDE
As a lesbian-owned small business we encourage others to pursue their dreams just as those brave souls put it all on the line (yes, even their very lives) for us to have that privilege today- we continue the fight. It's time to put all that PRIDE energy into action for the LGBTQ+ community!
HONORING THOSE THAT CAME BEFORE:
Pride month (which occurs in the US to commemorate the Stonewall Riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969) is so much more than rainbows or colorful parade floats.
In fact, Trans leaders like Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera made a 'Pride month' of resistance possible as form of resistance and solidarity. However, with more harmful legislation passing and politicans pushing misinformation and hate, especially towards the Trans community, the fight for LGBTQ+ rights and safety is far from over.
That said, below you can find amazing resources and initiatives raising awareness about the ongoing challenges and threats to the community. Take action and explore more organizations working to help the LGBTQ+ people around the world:
No matter if you're in the community or a lifelong ally- it's important we all continue to listen to, amplify and take regular action to end hate of the LGBTQ+ community.
We all deserve the freedom to live, love and to be are true selves. For Pride Month and beyond make the effort to support LGBTQ+ businesses and creators!
